About the company
The South African Actuaries Development Programme (SAADP) is an independent, non-profit company that was established with the backing of Sasria SOC Limited. The programme seeks to actively address the problem of the acute shortage of actuarial skills in the black community in South Africa.
About the Bursary
To be considered for SAADP Support, learners must apply to study Actuarial Science at the University of the Witwatersrand, University of Cape Town or the University of Pretoria. Alternatively, the programme is available to students who are currently studying at WITS, UCT or UP. Students from other universities may also apply, but they must have applied to and been accepted into Actuarial Science by WITS, UCT or UP. SAADP Support Programmes are renewable each year pending good academic performance. Where possible, comprehensive financial support is made available for students who are strong academically and show keen interest and passion for Actuarial Science. This covers the following: Tuition fees, Residence fees Meals allowances Text Books fees and Living allowance
Learners in Grade 12 must have an excellent academic record. They must achieve at least level 7 (80%) in Mathematics (NOT Mathematical Literacy), Physical Sciences and in English. They must have keen interest and passion to study Actuarial Science and display the potential to excel academically at the university.
